Lynx Head Gripper Tool

LM.Head.Gripper

For a simple, cost-effective gripping solution, 96 or 384 head arms may be configured with fingers to allow on-deck transport of various labware. The head gripper tool can perform any number of tasks: pick plates from stacks, de-lid/re-lid plates, load vacuum filters, move mag and vac separation devices, discard empty tip boxes.

A great option to further expand the capabilities outside the Lynx footprint is to attach a frame-mounted gripper to the back of the system. The frame gripper has the advantage of accessing two thirds of all deck positions and can ‘cross over’ the pipetting tools increasing the flexibility of a workflow. By not having an internal arm consuming pipetting locations within the deck, pipetting heads have more access to common positions.

For more complex integration projects that require transport of microplates over long distances to access larger peripherals, an industrial 6-axis robot operating in a cylindrical envelop or attached to a 1-3 meter linear rail system is the ideal solution. This option provides full access to locations under deck, behind or to the sides of the system.
