Lynx Microplate 96/384 Head Gripper Tool

LM.Head.Gripper

For a simple gripping tool the 96 or 384 head arms may be outfitted with fingers to move microplates around the deck.  This is a lower cost solution since we double on the x and Y axis of the head giving the gripper full access to the same plates the head accesses.  This gripper can pick up plates from stacks and move them to loading locations, load vacuum filters, move magnetic separation devices and de-lid plates.  This gripper tool can be ordered on any of the 96 and 384 well head arms and be used in conjunction with any of the other gripper tools.

The fingers cannot rotate or reach off deck.  If this is needed, the standard internal gripper is required.

  • Cost effective gripper tool
  • De-stack tips and microplates
  • Remove microplate covers
  • Move empty tip boxes to waste

Lynx Internal Microplate Gripper – iPaw

The Lynx platform has the internal microplate gripper option that gives the system the ability to move anything in a microplate format around the deck and off the platform to other peripheral devices.  The multiple axis and rotary gripper make the internal gripper a perfect tool to:

  • De-stack tips and microplates
  • Remove microplate covers
  • Move empty tip boxes to waste
  • Load readers, washers and incubators to complete ELISA assay
  • Load sealers and thermocyclers for PCR set up
  • Load storage incubators for cell maintenance and cell assay system

As one of the most versatile and high end gripper tools in the liquid handling market, this gripper makes a perfect complement to 96 and or 384 head system giving the ability to longer walk away operation and the ability to completely finish a method from beginning to end.

Lynx Frame Mounted Gripper Tool

A great option to expand the capabilities outside the core liquid handling robotic platform is to attach a frame gripper to the back of the system.  The frame gripper attaches to the entire back surface of the liquid handler and may even be aligned off-center of the liquid handling robot, giving the arm access to peripherals off to either side of the system.

The frame gripper has the advantage of accessing two thirds of all the deck positions of the liquid handling robot and can ‘cross over’ the pipetting tools increasing the flexibility of an application.  By not having an internal arm taking up pipetting locations within the deck, pipetting heads have more access and flexibility.

External Microplate Gripper with Optional Rail System

As with any major integration that requires the transport of samples and plates over long distances to access larger peripherals and on-line storage microplate devices, an industrial 6 axis robot operating in a cylindrical envelop or attached to a 1-3 meter linear rail system is still the best solution.  Given Dynamic Devices’ decade and a half long experience with these types of systems, solutions based complete systems are delivered with the highest success rate in the industry.

With the integration within an automation cabinet, the ability to place and remove plates from the liquid handlers deck and accessing underneath the system where other peripherals may be placed can be accomplished.

  • Access under deck, behind system and to each side of the system
  • Combine with integration cabinet for complete solution
  • Load readers, washers and incubators to complete ELISA assay
  • Load sealers and thermocyclers for PCR set up
  • Load storage incubators for cell maintenance and cell assay system
