With the flagship 96 VVP Pipetting Tool, 96 different volumes of 96 different liquids may be transferred without the need to calibrate each liquid for its own liquid class. Now accomplish applications like DNA normalization and compound dissolution on an entire plate in a single dispense. Having pipetting diagnostics for challenged samples in every tip, users can now pipet complex challenging samples, like whole blood and plant/seed homogenates, with clot/clog detection and correction for individuals pipetting errors on-the-fly.
24VVP Pipetting Tool
Our new 24 VVP Pipetting Tool allows 24 5mL disposable tips may be used for different ‘large volume’ transfers. Now accomplish applications like liquid biopsy DNA magnetic bead purification on an entire plate in a single dispense. By implementing the ClickBio extraction blocks, ‘plate processing’ of these larger format sample matrixes is now possible. In addition, pipetting diagnostics for challenged samples, like whole blood and plant/seed homogenates, have clot/clog detection and correction for validated human serum methods.
Fixed-8 VVP Pipetting Tool
Transfer 8 different volumes of liquid with verified volume reporting. Samples within microplate format, 9mm spacing, may now be transferred easily and economically with our fixed-8 tip tool. By elevating the spreading capability, multiple axis control is reduced, leading to a highly functional economical VVP pipetting tool with complete independent volume control and VVP pipetting diagnostics.

With VVPs independent monitoring and control of each channel, whether in 96, 24 or 8 channel format, different volumes may be aspirated and dispensed. With VVP’s independent monitoring and control of each channel, in 96 format, different volumes may be aspirated and dispensed. Since the VVP Pipetting Tool operates by actually measuring the liquid entering the tip volumetrically, different liquids of varying viscosity and physical properties may be aspirated and dispensed without the use of any liquid class development. The real time closed loop VVP sensors actually measure the flow rate of the liquid entering the tip over time. As the accumulation of volume is monitored, the valve remains open, allowing the sample to ‘flow’ in. When the target volume is reached, the valve closes and the actual volume is reported in a real time graphic window. This gives each VVP tool the ability to run applications in high throughput mode with full pipetting diagnostics.

Eliminate Liquid Classes.
With VVP’s real time closed loop monitoring, no longer is it necessary to pre-calibrate different liquid types and volume ranges. Since VVP directly measures the flow rate of the liquid entering the tip, viscosity and temperature are automatically accommodated for, therefore eliminating liquid class parameters. There are no pre-set, pre-defined or pre-calibrated settings to use for pipetting. Simply set a target volume and the valves will remain open, while the liquid flows into the tip, which shuts only once the target volume has entered the tip.
VVP Volume Reporting:
The LYNX liquid handling platform has integrated volume reporting capabilities. With every aspiration and dispense, volumetric data is collected and can be saved out and reported.
With every liquid transfer being monitored and tracked, Method Manager control software has a real-time visualization screen that allows the operator to instantly verify transfers.
Method Manager control software also allows the operator to save each pipetting step’s volumetric data to an output file. These output files can be saved by either the plate location name or a variable containing the bar code to be tracked back to the original sample ID.
Real Time Closed Loop Pipetting Diagnostics
Clot & Clog Detection & Correction
Clot & Clog detection can be optimized by setting threshold parameters depending on your sample’s matrix. Once anything starts to interfere with the tip opening and there is an interruption of the average flow rate, that independent channel closes before the clog/ clot is pulled into the tip permanently clogging it. The rest of the tips finish aspirating correctly and the head rises out of the samples, clearing only the tip that had an error. The head then re-dips into the samples and re-tries to aspirate the sample in a different place in the well.
Short Sample Diagnostics
Short sample or Air-In-Sample diagnostics analyze the flow rate of the liquid into the tip and when it senses air, either at the end of an aspiration or during the aspiration, an error is created. A user may program a re-try, have it put back the sample in the source well, or transfer the volume and report the actual volume transferred.
Tracking Error Diagnostics
Usually during method development, well parameters are set that are used by the arms to track down as the sample is aspirated and track up as samples are dispensed. If the sample is aspirated faster than the arm tracks down, an error is created where the system detects air in the sample column.

VVP Error Auto-Correction
One of the most sought after functionalities in liquid handling robotics is the ability to run individual channels within a high throughput head like the 96 VVP Pipetting Tool. Now, when pipetting errors are encountered by a channel, the aspiration is immediately stopped for just the erred channel while the reset of the samples are aspirated correctly. The head may then clear the erred channels above the liquid and dip the head again into the samples to re-try the aspiration to correct for the error on-the-fly.
VVP Residual Volume Sensing
The 96 & Fixed-8 VVP Pipetting Tool has to liquid level detection (LLD) in every channel. The head will slowly blow out air and measure the flow rate and when a channel finds the meniscus of the liquid in the well, it will shut the valve and record the Z-height of the arm and thus calculate the residual vogue from the taught well definition. The head can sense all the individual liquid levels unless there are wells that will overflow when a larger tip is submerged in the fullest wells.
