Responsibilities

We are currently looking for an FASE (Field Application and Service Engineer). This individual will be involved in all aspects of installation, training and application support/programming. The position will work closely with sales (both pre-sales and post-sales) to assist in instrument demonstrations and documentation to streamline application success. We are looking for a quick learner that can operate independently yet cooperatively with those on the “front line.”

  • Design, develop, and support instrument methods for a diverse customer base
  • Understand and analyze project requirements and translate those into programming deliverables
  • Work with internal engineers to feed back product improvements
  • Work with R&D on product testing
  • Work as part of a cross-trained and a highly dynamic team
  • Be willing to do work that may be outside the normal scope of things to help reach company goals

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Biology, Computer Science or applied engineering discipline
  • Solid programming experience with automation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel (30-50%) locally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pluses:

  • Prior track record of implementing of lab automation
  • Understanding of computer communications (TCP/IP, RS232)
  • Comfortable working with hardware or willing to learn
  • Experience with scripting in an object oriented language or willingness to learn
