Job Summary

The Assembly Technician position is a multifaceted position within a small company and light manufacturing environment.  Primary duties will include electro-mechanical assembly of robotic instruments and peripheral devices.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete assembly of robotic instruments from part kitting to final assembly, testing, and shipping.
  • Complete and update manufacturing documentation as required (e.g., Bill of Materials, Build Sheets, Assembly Documents).
  • Inventory maintenance to include receiving, stocking, counting, assuring minimum supply requirements.
  • Perform factory testing and final quality control check prior to shipping.
  • Maintain work area in a very clean and highly organized manner.

Assembly:

  • Construction of small to large scale electro-mechanical assemblies made from cnc machines parts, sheet metal parts, rotary and linear servo motors, linear encoders, sensors, air cylinders, and numerous other electro-mechanical components.
  • Ability to follow and improve manufacturing methods and processes.
  • General cable assembly to include cable prep, crimp, and basic soldering is a plus.
  • Skilled in use of general production tools (e.g., allen wrenches, cable crimp tools, multi-meter, drill press, pliers, wire strippers, screw gun, metric fasteners, measuring devices, etc.)
  • Able to read and understand CAD drawings and basic electrical schematics.

Technical/Computer:

  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to write assembly documentation, maintain and update bill of materials and QC documentation
  • Operate robotic instrumentation and follow specific test procedures.

Minimum Requirement

  • Mechanically inclined

Work Environment

Clean, comfortable, casual work environment with the opportunity to grow in a niche market supporting the always growing biotech industry.  Candidate may be required to stand/walk for extended hours and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
